Our South American cotton hammocks originate from North East Brazil, where hammock making has a long tradition. The production of high-quality hammocks provides over 100 people with secure jobs, at above-average wages, in one of the poorest areas of Brazil. We guarantee that children are not involved in the manufacturing work. CHOOSING YOUR HAMMOCK- The majority of our hammocks are made from 100% cotton, with the exception of a select few, which have been made from EllTex® polyester cotton mix. The main differences to consider when choosing a hammock, apart from the obvious colour choices, are the overall size and load limitations. Whilst some are designed to be for one person, others are intended to fit up to 3 people. There are two basic differences in the way a hammock is made. The first is a straightforward piece of canvass with ropes attached at either end. The second way incorporates a wooden stretcher between the ropes, which prevents the hammock from closing in and hugging the occupants. This is particularly useful when there is more than one person in it at a time. |

ARUBA HAMMOCK The Aruba range of hammocks are made from EllTex® which can be hung outside even when it is raining or when the sun is burning hot: EllTex® is a special mix of polyester and cotton that is very weatherproof, hardly fades and stays extremely tear proof, even after repeatedly getting wet. On top, it is snug and soft like pure cotton! |

BRASILIA DOUBLE SIZED HAMMOCK The Brasilia spreader bar hammocks are as comfortable as the classic Brazilian hammock with no bar. This was achieved by firstly using a special, amazingly soft and flexible thread in a high quality thickness (350 g/m²), and secondly by making the material significantly wider than the bar: 140 x 80 cm bar. This provided for a wonderful arch in which one can hang comfortably and securely! |
